- Easy Care
Also referred to as 'Sapphire Tower', Puya alpestris is native to the Chilean Andes. It is a terrestrial-bromeliad which grows to about 1m (4 feet) tall and produces a spectacular inflorescence at the end of its life with blue-turquoise flowers that have been described as 'otherworldly'. Plants can take 10-15 years from seed to flower.
My plants have been grown from seed and are a little under a year old at the moment.
